Tournament Trail
Rules

  1. If you have failed a polygraph test associated with any fishing tournament or have been barred from any fishing tournament trail you are ineligible to fish this tournament trail.
  2. All competitors, winners and non-winners, are subject to a polygraph test. Failure to submit to a polygraph test will result in immediate disqualification. Polygraph tests will be given at all Qualifying tournaments. Any competitor/team that fails a polygraph will be immediately disqualified and will forfeit all winnings.
  3. A $35.00 per person membership fee is required to fish the 2008 trail.
  4. Entry fee per qualifying event is $80.00 per team. Entry fee will not be refunded if disqualified. Entry fee is not tax deductible.
  5. Late fee of $10.00 will be assessed for late registration / No Exceptions!
  6. Take off will be determined by registration order, teams may pay for more than one or all tournaments to secure place in the tournament start order.
  7. Each team will be issued a blast off number/coin during registration & boat check the morning of each event, you must bring your number/coin with you to weigh in fish.
  8. This shall be a team tournament trail, but a team member may fish a tournament/s alone if the other member is unable to fish. Three substitutions per team a year is allowed, a substitute will be required to pay a membership fee and will be allowed to sub for more than one team during the year.
  9. Take off shall begin at safe daylight (Tournament Director or his designee’s discretion)
  10. All participants must obey all boating laws and regulations governing watercraft in the State of Alabama. Failure to obey these rules will result in disqualification.
  11. Courtesy, Safe Boating, Sportsmanship, and Conservation must be displayed at all times by contestants. A U.S. Coast Guard approved chest type PFD must be on and fastened anytime the combustion engine is more than idle (on plane). All boats must meet U.S. Coast Guard standards. All boats must have an emergency kill-switch and must be attached to the driver during operation of combustion engine. Boats must have an operational live well / aeration system.
  12. The “official time” and the “weigh in time” will be announced prior to blast off, any boats not in landing area by designated weigh in time shall be disqualified. In the event that a team has boat trouble, another team can escort their fish to the landing if fish are kept separate. A team member from distressed boat must ride in with fish while the other member stays with the boat.
  13. All contestants under the age of 16 must fish with an adult and have written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  14. Tournament boats will be identified with a ribbon placed on trolling motor at boat check, no fishing is allowed within 25 yards of another tournament boat without mutual consent. All fishing must be done from previously inspected boat (boat check), no bank or wade fishing is allowed.
  15. All bass must be caught live in a conventional sporting manner with artificial lures only. (pork trailers are allowed) All fish must be caught in a legal and sporting manner during tournament hours from tournament waters. Contestants may not use any communication device for the purpose of locating or catching fish during tournament hours. Hole-sitting by or for entrants is not allowed.
  16. Scoring will be determined by the total weight of not more than 5 bass per team. Fish will be measured on a “Golden Rule” measuring board. Fish must be 12” in length to be weighed, all fish under 12” brought to the scales will be taken out along with an equal number of the largest fish. Dead fish brought to the scales will result in a 4oz penalty for each dead fish.
  17. Any team caught fishing off limits water will be disqualified, areas include: ( Green Lake, Flag Lake, Bear Lake, Johnson/Boykin Lake, Fishing Lake, Doctors Lake, Hellcat Lake, Olin Basin, Chippawa Lakes 1 & 2, any private/posted water not open to public and any marked area of a dam.
  18. No alcohol or illegal drugs will be allowed during the tournament hours extending through the weigh in and award process. Intoxication will be cause for immediate disqualification.
  19. Observer boat may be assigned to participants at Tournament Directors discretion.
  20. All competitors agree to allow Fish’n Fever Tackle, tournament officials and all sponsors the unconditional right to use their names and photographs for any promotional use without compensation or royalties in connection with such use.
  21. Any grievance must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Director before or during the weigh-in (grievance must be signed). All decisions of the Tournament Director or his designee regarding a grievance are final and not subject to any further grievance or legal procedures.
  22. Upon entering a Fish’n Fever Tackle tournament, contestants release Fish’n Fever Tackle officials and sponsors from liability of accidents, losses, or thefts. Contestants are responsible for knowing and understanding these rules.
  23. Interpretation of these rules shall be left exclusively to the Tournament Director or his designee. All competitors agree that all decisions of the Tournament Director shall be final in all matters.
